He was predeceased by: his parents, Jim Groves and Mabel Groves of Carseland, Alberta.; his siblings, Jimmy (Jeep), Edna Harriman and Marje Johansen; and his great grandchild Remy Rommens.

He is survived by: his sister Joyce (Curt Hvingelby); and his brother-in-law Alfred Johansen. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family requests that instead of flowers and donations, do it Roy Boy style and "pay it forward".
