He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Tanner and L. B. Tanner; his brothers, Craig Tanner, Jon Cooper and Lon Cooper; and his brother-in-law Calvin Heggie.

He is survived by: his siblings, Tina Reid, Gary Cooper (Shirley), Michelle Heggie, Peggy Pannell (Joe) and Mary Ann Johnson (Ron); and his sister-in-law Carol Cooper.
