He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Vincent Hunt Kaitaatohtaissii and Gladys Bottle Nahmaakii; his sister Carrie; his son Vincent; his aunt Anna Nice Cutter (Dick); his uncles, Bob Hunt (Saakohwaakii) and Alec Hunt (Susie); his cousin Reggie Buckskin; his grandchildren, Mandi and Johnny Spear Chief; and his great-niece Alana.
He is survived by: his granddaughter Elisha Spear Chief (Mandel); his great grandchild Anika; his nieces and nephews, Evangeline Wells, Angelene Twigg (Robert), Allen Hunt and Dennis Wells (Carmen); his adoptive children, Jody Heavy Shields, Miranda and Gilbert Spear Chief; and his friend Ike Eagle Speaker. He is also survived by 18 great nieces and nephews, and 34 great-great Nieces and nephews.
