He was predeceased by: his wife Eileen; his grandchildren, Dylan and Jaydon Tarkowski; his parents, John and Genevieve; and his brothers, John, Florean and George.
He is survived by: his children, Wayne Heck (Jane) of Forestburg, Doug Heck (Mary Jane) of Bashaw, Linda Mazure (Richard) of Hardisty, David Heck (Blair Phillip) and Brenda Tarkowski (Glenn) of Edmonton; and his siblings, Fred Heck (Bernice) of Camrose, Ed Heck (Elaine) of Bawlf and Clara Lohner of Camrose. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren.
