He was predeceased by: his parents, George Zimmer and Theresa Zimmer; his siblings, Eileen Heck and Lorne; his sister-in-law Donna; and also, Otto and Olga Bendfeld.
He is survived by: his wife Carol; his children, Brent of Camrose, Dale (Dawn) of Camrose and Lori Hilgartner (D'Arcy) of Camrose; his grandchildren, Emily Zimmer (Mike), Brenden and Dylan Hilgartner; his siblings, Don (Nellie), Ken (Betty), Gordon, Garry (Marvis), Robert (Patricia), Sharon Adams (Terry) and Theresa McTavish (Allan); and his siblings-in-law, Ross Heck and Janet Zimmer.
If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions in John's memory may be made to in lieu of flowers to the Food Bank - Camrose Neighbor Aid, KidSport, or to the historical church of your choice.
