He was predeceased by: his wife Lois; his grandson Derek; and his siblings, Linda and Tim. He is survived by: his sons, James (Debbie) and Greg; his great grandchildren, Trinity and Mason; and his brother Peter.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society or to the Stollery Children's Hospital.
