With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Selmer Gilbert Skogen (Calgary, Alberta), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 25, 2025 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Selma and Almer; his brothers, Mervin and Olaf; his nephew Terry; his son-in-law Rick; and his grandson Jared.

He is survived by: his wife Dianne; and his siblings, Ida and Alfred (Verna). He is also survived by his six daughters, four sons, 23 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren.

A prayer was held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the St. Mark's Catholic Church (5552 Madigan Dr NE, Calgary, AB T2A4P2). A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honour of Sam to the Alberta Cancer Foundation at https://albertacancer.ca.
