He was predeceased by: his daughter Cynthia Pearl; and his siblings, John, Bill, Fred, Ed, Margaret, Lydia and Kathy.
He is survived by: his wife Rosemarie Wiebe of Calgary, AB; his children, Allen, Boyd (JoAnne) and Kathleen Hitchen (Tom); his brother Abe; his sister-in-law Adeline; and his sisters, Betty Friesen and Mary Peck. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
