She was predeceased by: her husband Gerald "Jerry" Carscadden; her parents, Bill Sutermeister and Mildred Sutermeister; and her sister Pauline Kay. She is survived by: her daughters, Catherine "Cat" Taylor and Marily Quinn (Rob) of Calgary, AB; and her grandchildren, Benjamin Quinn, Megan Froese (Jeremy) and Lindsey Taylor (Ty Jackson).
She was instrumental in establishing The Thrill of Flight component offered in the Alberta public school curriculum, and in creating the Mountain Flying course for Mount Royal College and was honoured nationally for her contributions to aviation education.
