She was predeceased by: her parents, Dulcie Goobie (Watts) and Clarence Goobie of Bishop's Falls; her siblings, Everett, Oakville, Maxine St (Roy King), Shirley Mississauga (Gord Ellis), Roy Mississauga (Gloria), Pauline (Frank Ivany) and Etobicoke; and her in-laws, Fred Penney Boston (Ethel), Melba Pike and Eastport.
She is survived by: her daughter Kathy Penney (Chris Pike); her grandsons, Andrew Pike (Maureen Hill) of Calgary, Benjamin Pike (Liz Russell) of Calgary and Zachary Pike of Calgary; her great grandchildren, Rory and Lachlan Pike; and her in-laws, Raymond Penney Grand Falls (Phyllis), Irene Goobie and Len Pike. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Joan moved to Calgary in 2019 (thankfully, just before the pandemic) so the family could spend more time with her and provide more support.
