He was predeceased by: his parents, Shigeru Tataki and Kosaku Yasumatsu; his daughter Melanie; and his siblings, Nobuko, Yoshiko, Atsuko and Toshio.
He is survived by: his wife Lorna; his daughter Cindy (Ed); his grandchildren, Madison and Keelan Wittstock; and his sister Kazuko Sakiyama (Kay). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
