In loving memory of Girlie Ruelo Mercado of Calgary, Alberta, who departed this world on October 26, 2024 at the age of 62. Girlie Ruelo leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Fortunata Ruelo and Jose (Socorro); her siblings, Jose (Socorro), Socorro Jr., Renato Ruelo, Jesus and Violeta Albeza; and her father-in-law Liberato Mercado.

She is survived by: her husband Henry Ramos Mercado of Calgary, AB; her daughter Maggie; her siblings, Aida Yalung, Lolie Cargullo, Sally and Jaime (Socorro); her grandson Joshua Abe Orcajada; and her siblings-in-law, Jean, Socorro, Adelina Ruelo, Grace, Antonio Yalung and Rudy Albeza. She is also survived by ten nephews, five nieces, and several great-nephews and nieces.

Visitation was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Deerfoot South McInnis & Holloway Funeral Home & Cremation Services (12281 40 St SE, Calgary, AB T2Z4E6). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
