He was predeceased by: his wife Joane Cardinal-Schubert; his parents, Ernst Joachim Schubert and Margaret Schubert; and his brothers-in-law, Richard Welch, Reiner Paellmann, Ken Cardinal, Brian Cardinal and David Cardinal.
He is survived by: his sons, Christopher Schubert and Justin Schubert; his sisters, Marlies Noble and Gesine Welch; and his siblings-in-law, Mike Noble, Douglas Cardinal, Ron Cardinal, Robert Cardinal, Mike King, Carol King, Adoia Arana-Beobide Cardinal, Carla Kalke, Judy Cardinal and Jennifer Cardinal. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
