Charles Louis Moir III MD Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Charles Louis Moir III MD of Calgary Alberta, born in Saint Louis Missouri, who passed away on April 19th 2002, at the age of 55, leaving to mourn family and friends. Charles, a non-smoker, passed away from Lung Cancer following an illness of several years only diagnosed shortly before his death.
Charlie/Chuck was a Cardiac and Obstetrical Anesthesiologist working mainly in Vancouver and Calgary. He graduated from Princeton University and completed his Medical Degree at the University of Illinois Medical School. His Residencies were held in Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and McGill in Montreal. His Fellowships were at Brigham and Women’s in Boston and The Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. He maintained the highest level of education and certification of new skills throughout his career to benefit his patients and was always an inspiration of excellence to his colleagues. He was dedicated to his field and very generous with his knowledge. Charlie/Chuck had a great smile and twinkling brown eyes full of warmth and caring. He was always very enthusiastic in his approach to life, his motto was “ Carpe Diem!”. He loved spending time in nature and the mountains. He was never happier than when rambling and camping with Catriona, his wife and the love of his life or when crossing glaciers and scaling high peaks. He is preceded in death by his sister Nancy Cameron Moir, his mother Isabelle Young Moir, his father Charles Louis Moir II and his grand parents, Sarah Cameron Young, Dr. Charles William Young DDS, Dr. Charles Louis Moir MD and Martha Sehr Moir. He is survived by his forever loving Catriona Moir and by cousins in Virginia, Florida, Maryland, Illinois, Colorado, Utah and California. His ashes are in both Canmore Alberta and Libertyville Illinois.
