He was predeceased by: his wife Marion; and his siblings, George and Grace Garrett. He is survived by: his nieces, Lynda Gutor and Shirley Buyer. He is also survived by numerous other nieces and nephews.

When Art turned 100 on November 28, 2020, COVID restrictions prevented the planned celebration of his historic milestone.
