He was predeceased by: his parents, Fernand Nazarre Joseph Charest and Laurencia Marie Lesperance; his sister Helen Kam (Charest); and his great grandchildren, Olivia Pierson and Odette Jennissen.

He is survived by: his wife Bev Charest (Aitchison); his sisters, Ida Hagg (Roy), Gladys Harty (Richard), Val Haag (Monfred) and Pauly Holst (Henry); his brother-in-law Joe Kam; his nieces, Maureen Jennissen (Greg) and Celine Rodgers (Robert); his grandchildren, Jordanna Pierson (Brad), Danton Rodgers (Megan), Kelton Jennissen (Jade) and Iescha Bandura (Jordon); and his great grandchildren, Houston, Tucker, Tesla Rodgers, Kenzlie Matyka, Lincoln, Eliza Pierson, Parker and Carter Bandura.
