She was predeceased by: her parents, Percy Smith and Bertha Smith; her husband Jim McQuaid; her grandson Michael Tyler Takeda; and her siblings, Rob Smith and Joyce Sewall.
She is survived by: her daughter Debbie Takeda (Bruce); her grandchildren, Chris and Karlyn Takeda; her great grandchildren, Oliver, Addyson and Emiko; her grandchildren, Marlee, Matt Noji and Chelsea Takeda; her great grandchildren, Aden, Leah and Lane; her children, Brooklyn, Brody, Melissa and Jon Samson; her sisters, Judy Housenga (Marv), Jean Hill (Jack), Janice Christensen (Bruce) and Jerri Hofmann (Brian); and her brother-in-law Cliff Sewall. She is also survived by daughter, Patti Hotel and her children.
