He was predeceased by: his siblings, Marian and Lawrence; his stepdaughter Brandi; and his granddaughter Megan. He is survived by: his cousin Lawrence; his son Johnson Farmers; his wife Wanda; his children, Neil (Penny), Reid (Marilyn), Carol (Ross) and Donna (Ed); his nephew Randy; his great-niece Annette (Colin); and his daughters, Wells and Dyck. He is also survived by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He also served on the board of the Bow Slope Shipping Association, making significant contributions to local agriculture.
