He was predeceased by: his wife Donna Schneider; and his parents, Edward Schneider and Irene Schneider. He is survived by: his girlfriend Eleanor; his children, Tim, Jodi and Jacqueline; his children-in-law, Cheryl, Gus and Phil; his grandchildren, Riley, Haley, Craig, Matthew, Coltin, Abigail and Alexia; his siblings, Keith Schneider (Georgina), Daniel Schneider (Bernilda) and Jean Gall (Grant); his friends, Ron, Judy Shandro and Tony Weisbecker; and also, Jamie (Kyle) and Naticia (Ahmed). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the The Cross Cancer Institute of Alberta.
