He was predeceased by: his daughter Charlotte Patterson; his parents, Ernest Attfield and Charlotte Attfield; his granddaughter Rachel Potts; and his siblings, Robin Attfield, Sydney Attfield and Gayle Howerton.

He is survived by: his children, Laverne Attfield (Corine) of Fork Lake, AB, Wayne Attfield (Sheryl) of Glendon, AB, Edward Attfield (Barbara) of Glendon, AB, Tammy Ward (Mitch) of Glendon, AB, Kim Walls (Rob) of Devon, AB, Kelly Attfield (Charron) of Melbourne, ON and Clinton Attfield of Vernon, BC; his siblings, David Attfield (Linda) of Delbourne, AB, Terry DeMarce of Calgary, AB, Yvonne Martineau of Calgary, AB and Peggy Potter of Pincher Creek, AB; and also Betty Attfield of Vernon, BC. He is also survived by twenty nine grandchildren; thirty seven great grandchildren.
