He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Bekkerus and Agnes Bekkerus; his in-laws, Bill and Elizabeth Kokotilo; his sister-in-law Coralee Zaharko; and his great-nephew Greg Podulsky.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Kokotilo-Bekkerus; and his children, Rick Bekkerus (Desiree), Melody Vavrek (Michael) and Rhonda Mudryk. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
