It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Lester McAra (Bashaw, Alberta), born in Edmonton, Alberta, who passed away on December 19, 2019, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Austin; his stepfather George Spracklin; his sister Flora McAra; and his former wife Linda. He is survived by: his wife Kristina Marie McAra; his children, Vernon McAra of Edmonton, Shayne McAra (Laurie) of Edmonton, Lester McAra (Stephanie) of Cranbrook, Rudy Campbell (Marie) of Red Deer, Billy Joe McLeon of Tofield, Alberta, Stacey McAra of Edmonton, Jennifer McAra (Brian) of Bonnyville and Alexandria Schmil of Sylvan Lake, Alberta; his mother Ruth Spracklin of Edmonton; and his siblings, Johnny McAra (Diane) of Edmonton, Donald McAra (Jody) of Edmonton, Jim McAra of Edmonton, Patricia McAra of Edmonton, Margie McAra of Edmonton and Linda Waselenko (Robert) of Canora. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Lester's Life will be held at Parkland Funeral Home Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at 11:00 A.M, 6287 – 67A Street (Taylor Drive), If desired, in place of flowers, Memorial Donations in Lester's honor may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society at http://www.cancer.ca.
