He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe and Joan. He is survived by: his wife Connie Fischer; his son DJ; his daughter-in-law Sarah; his daughter Jody; his son-in-law Ron Powder; his grandsons, Andy, Tim Radmanovich and Donovin Powder; and his sisters, Donna (Dan Allen), Linda (William Shyian), Carol (Gerry Vercammen) and Lori (Lee Bieraugle). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

A private celebration of Don's life will be held at a later date and in his honor, donations can be made to the Cross Cancer Institute and Stars, two organizations that were important to him.
