He was predeceased by: his parents, Yakim Cherniak and Angela Cherniak; his sister Vicky; and his brother-in-law Bronnie of Ranfurly. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth; and his children, Debbie, Darrell and Cathy. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, numerous nieces / nephews.

Viewing will be held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Glenwood Funeral Home (52356 Range Rd 232, Sherwood Park, AB T8B1B8). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Parish (13 Brower Dr, Sherwood Park, AB T8H1Y7).
