He was predeceased by: his parents, Duncan Carey and Norah Carey; his siblings, Mae Suvak, Lyle Carey, Michael Carey and Eva MacLennan; and his grandson Jake Carey.
He is survived by: his children, Jim Carey (Thea), Rob Carey (Kristina) and Shannon Laackmann (Brent); his grandchildren, Rayel Cardinal (Dean), Brittany Rivard (Brett), Ty Carey (Joanie), Justin Carey (Leanne), Riley Carey, Cole Carey, Brody Laackmann and Cordell Laackman; his great grandchildren, Hunter, Emerence, Hudson, Colt, Callen, Dawson and Rori; his brother Duncan Carey (Pat); his siblings-in-law, Pat Carey and John Suvak; and the mother of his children Margaret Carey.
