He was predeceased by: his mother Patricia Olsen; and his son Murray J. Micklos. He is survived by: his father Keith Olsen (Sherri Cholak); his siblings, Luanne Lamash (Augustine) and Marvin Olsen (Shannon); his daughter Sharalee Olsen (Jaeger Kult-Berdahl); and his grandchildren, Dax, Wyatt and Levi Berdahl.
