Anthony Williams wrote a sympathy message

“I joined the Army 2 days after my 17th Birthday..... snot nosed kid never been away from home. Kev took me under his wing and steered me down the right road. Told my when I done good, kicked my arse when I didn't. He had a way of taking the mickey out of you without making you feel small or bad (unless that was his intention). I joined the army in 1977. I left the army in 1980 and became a career police officer. I seen Kev only once many years later while transiting through Townsville airport. The photo I have attached was taken on the 10th April 1979, my 19th birthday on Penang Island, Malaysia. Even though I had no contact with Kev, such was his impact on me that I felt compelled to attend his funeral. I am glad I did .... it was last chance to say thank you. You will be missed and thought of often mate. RIP ...Willy 2/4 RAR”
