Peter Drake Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Pete (Peter Drake) in Hexham, New South Wales, who passed away on April 21, 2022, at the age of 89.

Pete was born in Gainsborough, UK, and attended the local "Queen Elizabeth High School" (QEHS). He studied chemistry at Imperial College, London University, thereafter training to become a science-teacher. After meeting his future wife, Cheryl (a native of Sydney, he emigrated to Australia and taught for nearly 40 years at high schools around New South Wales.

Following retirement and Cheryl's death, he lived for many years with the family of his son, Peter junior, in Hexham, New South Wales. He leaves behind another son, Edward (now living in Northumberland, UK) and five grandchildren.
