He is survived by: his children, David Thorne, Brieann Thorne and James F. Thorne, III; his grandchildren, Riley, Landen, Samuel, Kadence and James IV; his daughter-in-law Monica Thorne; and his siblings, Robert Thorne, Patricia Stein, Andrew Thorne, Susanne Thorne, Ann Ketterling and Christine Manuel.
