He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Leonard A. Helzer and Susan Doyle Helzer; his grandfather Adam; his uncle Walt; his sister Linda; his brother-in-law Dal Rasmussen; his brother Jon B. Helzer; his children, Julie Feathers (Carl) of Cheyenne, Amy Sturman (Cody) of Boulder and Jon L. Helzer of Rosenberg, Texas; his grandchildren, Josh Stamey (Rae), Alison Petersen (Kyle), Guthrie Sturman and Susanna Sturman; and his great grandchildren, Teagan and Cadence.
Donations may be made in his name to the Laramie Animal Welfare Society or the hospice center at the Sublette Center in Pinedale.
