He was predeceased by: his wife Dorothy; his parents, Margaret Kovalik and Gustav Kovalik; and his brothers, Gustav Kovalik and Thomas Kovalik.

He is survived by: his child Gustav Kovalik of Caledonia, NY. He is also survived by animals which included a pet crow and porcupine, horses, a few cats, and many dogs that were house pets.
