He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert M. Platt and Patricia Platt (Wertz); and his former wife Phyliss Platt. He is survived by: his close friend Sharon Boyce; his sons, Joseph and Douglas; his grandchildren, Matix, Josh Boyce, Zach Smith, Arch Newman, Haily Boyce and Hannah Burdine (Calvin); and his great grandchildren, Beverly Smith (Pat) of Wellsburg, Sheila Barrett (Rick) of Wellsburg and Leonard Boyce (Karen) of Wellsburg.
