She is survived by: her child Noel Brinker (Brenda Shaffer) of Elkins; her grandchildren, Kyle Brinker of St. Louis and Travis Brinker (Victoria) of St. Louis; her siblings, Edwin Jenkins of Knoxville, TN and Anita Jenkins Robinson of Greenwood, IN; and her nieces and nephews, Eric of Tybee Island, GA, Christopher of Knoxville, TN, Adam of Denver, Heather of Knoxville, TN, Sheila of Greenwood, IN and O'Flaherty of Elkins.

Upon retirement in 2001, Ruth served the board of the Rich Mountain Battlefield Foundation.
