She was predeceased by: her parents, James Robert Childers and Maggie Childers (Sims); her daughter Deborah D. McGaha; and her brothers, Luther J. Childers and Floyd "Pete" Childers.
She is survived by: her husband James Leo Smith; her daughters, Sherril J. Thompson (Karey) of Notasulga, AL., Diana Smith of Douglasville, GA and Donna Stallard (Darren) of Zephyrhills, FL.; her granddaughter Kristina Childs; her great grandchild Kynleigh Jean Childs; and her brothers, James R. Childers, Jr. (Linda) of Hubert, NC, Grover Childers of Tallassee, AL and Mitchell Childers (Ann) of Notasulga, AL..
