He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Massi and Gina Ciarrocchi Massi; his wife Wilda Wolford of Virginia; and his siblings, Solena Massi, Ada Heath, Norina Subra, Adeline DelSignore, Elizabeth Fleischfresser, Orlando Massi, Ugo Massi and Rudolph Massi.

He is survived by: his daughter Maria Matthias (Matt) of Leonardtown, MD; and his grandchildren, Virginia Matthias, Elizabeth Matthias, Matthew Matthias, Jr. and Thomas Matthias. He is also survived by many extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, he would love for his friends to donate to Mountaintop Public Library, PO Box 217, Thomas, WV 26292.
