She was predeceased by: her parents, John Simms, Jr. and Helen Hicks Simms; her son Chad Hudnall; her brother Billy Joe Cook; and her great-nephew Sammy Burdette.
She is survived by: her husband Bob Gipson; her son Marty Gipson; and her siblings, Johnny Simms (Donna), Jean Burdette (Danny) and Jack Simms (Kim). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews.
