He is survived by: his wife Ernestine Taylor; his children, Jenny Grimes (Eddy) of Ada, OH, Edie Handley (Mark) and Charlie Whittington (Tara) of Tampa, FL.; his grandchildren, Josh, Cassy Grimes (David Sperling), Seth, Amber, Rachel Williamson, Taylor, Sydney Raike, Wyatt and Alexandra Whittington; his great grandchildren, Lynn and William; and his close friend Tom Schauer. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.

“You may not know me but I was Homer’s nurse back in 2022. I immediately knew he was such a kind soul. I’m so sorry to hear about his passing. I joined the United States Army right out of high school and went to Korea. Homer would often tell me about his time there while serving. I am proud to call him my brother in arms. His love for animals and his wife is inspiring. He waited on that call everyday. He’s one of the strongest men I’ve ever met and I hope he rests easy. Lots of love- Tayah Fetty”
