It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Burgess (Petersburg, West Virginia), who passed away on October 14, 2020, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of James Burgess to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Tracy Burgess and Viola Burgess (Reel); his daughter Konnie Jean Burgess Sampsell; his grandson Sean Robert Sampsell; and his brother Robert "Bob" Burgess.
He is survived by: his wife Linda R. Burgess (Riggleman); his sons, Kevin Burgess (Janet) of Havelock, NC, Kendall Burgess (Theresa) of Petersburg, WV and Kenric Burgess (Beverly) of Rustburg, VA; and his siblings, Roger Burgess (Imojean) of Arthur, WV, Joseph "Joe" Burgess of Rineyville, KY, Daniel "Dan" Burgess (Vetta) of Arthur, WV and Wanda Secrist of Petersburg, WV. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren.
Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, all individuals entering the funeral home will be required to maintain social distancing and wear face mask at all times.
