He was predeceased by: his parents, Burl Hays Sr. and Virginia Hays (Cook); his wife Sandra Jane Hooe; and his daughter Lori Lynn Hays. He is survived by: his daughter Vicki Jo Kopf (Peter) of Basye; and his grandchildren, Robert Thomas, Michael Kopf, Alexandra Barger, Caitlin Romano Lowe and Nicholas Romano. He is also survived by thirteen great grandchildren.
