We are sad to announce that on October 29, 2021, at the age of 84, John Hopkins (Paden City, West Virginia), born in Sistersville, West Virginia passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of John Hopkins to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, John Dempsey and Edna Brown Hopkins; and his sister Estelle V. Hopkins. He is survived by: his wife Barbara McCoy Hopkins; his children, Eric Hopkins (Therese Vanzo) of Morgantown and Juanita Van Ryzin (John) of Madison; and his granddaughter Jordan Pfohl of Livingston.

“John, or Hoppy as we knew him, played on the Paden City High School athletic teams in the early 1950s. I had the pleasure of competing against him for three years as a member of the Pine Grove High School teams in football, basketball, and baseball. Hoppy always had a smile on his face after the competition, win or lose. We always shook hands after the competition, left as friends. Jack A Beckett Class of Pine Grove HS, 1954.”
