He was predeceased by: his parents, Jasper Blan Phillips and Lucy Mayfield Phillips; and his siblings, Marlin, Dick, Everett, Marth Lee Evanto and Mary Kay Eddy.

He is survived by: his wife Biddie Phillips; his sons, Rodney Phillips (Linda), Kevin Phillips (Connie) and Brian Phillips (Stacey); and his brother Donald Phillips. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
