He was predeceased by: his parents, John Rice and Inez Rice; his sons, James and Lawrence Rice; and his siblings, George, John Rice, Betty Salsbury and Louise Bell.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Craig Rice; and his sons, Clyde R. Rice (Kelly) of Fairmont, WV, John Rice of Star City, WV and Timothy Rice (Jodi Welty) of Harpers Ferry, WV.
