He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Franklin McDaniel and Cora Anna Hite McDaniel; and his siblings, Parren, Clement, Clyde, Conrad, Herbert, Floyd McDaniel and Grace Rodgers.

He is survived by: his wife Ellaree Butts McDaniel; and his children, David McDaniel (Brenda), Todd McDaniel (Erica), Diane Gregory (Ricky), Patricia Snow and Crystal Baker (Ron). He is also survived by nine grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
