He was predeceased by: his wife Wilda Eagle Hillery; his sons, Kevin and Michael; and his siblings, Leona Thomas Powell, Gloria Sanders Shaffer, William, Franklin, Lawrence and Bobby.
He is survived by: his children, Harold A. Hillery of Flemington, Eric B. Hillery, Regina Harvey (Cheryl), Benita Hillery, Companion Gene Smith of Kingwood and Sandra L. Snyder (Greg Rakosi) of Maidsville; his daughter-in-law Stephanie Hillery of Tunnelton; his sisters, Alda Irene Kelley Smith of Kingwood, Ellen M. Kelly of Kingwood, Donna Jean Hillery-Shaffer of Kingwood and Louise Hall of Albright; and his sisters-in-law, Jean Jones of Kingwood, Lula Corbitt of Kingwood, Allen Clark of Kingwood and Alice Clark. He is also survived by grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
