He is survived by: his wife Beverly "Joanne" Shrout; his daughter Glenna Whetsell (Tracy) of Kingwood, WV; his grandchildren, Brittany Crabtree (Nick) of Clear Brook, VA and Greg Smith (Tiffany) of Morgantown, WV; his stepgrandchildren, Shelly Rocha (Joshua Hite) of Morgantown, Heidi Felton of Terra Alta, Tyler Whetsell of Ormond Beach, FL and Logan Whetsell of Kingwood; his great grandchildren, Owen, Brady Crabtree, Maelee and Greyson Smith; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Whitney, Jake Metheny, Briar Felton, Josh, Nate and Ellie Hite; his siblings, Donald Shrout of Reedsville, Ralph Shrout of Reedsville, Garnet Shrout of Reedsville, Harry Shrout of Reedsville and Joyce Johnson of Masontown, WV; his close friends, Shawna, John, Alexys and Austyn Stull; and his pet River.
