He was predeceased by: his parents, Rollie R. Hayes and Lena C. Hayes (Urice); and his siblings, Erman "Hoppy" Hayes, Donald "Tip" Hayes, Ervin "Bunk" Hayes and Madeline "Sis" Jones.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Hayes (Leydig); his daughters, Crystal Proietti (Tim) of Keyser and Candy Keller (Bill) of Keyser; his grandchildren, Chris Proietti (Laci), Cory Proietti (Kiri), Emily Pancake (Cody) and Holly Haines (Deric); his great grandchildren, Raegan Proietti and Audrey Pancake; and his nieces and nephews, Kim and Doug Rinard of Keyser.
