He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Fertig and Virginia Alice Fertig (Dove); his birth father Dick Martin; his brothers, Port and Elmer Fertig; his son James Allen Fertig; and his niece Jacie Delawder.
He is survived by: his brothers, Lumber Yard and Green Engineering; his stepfather Chester Rhodes of Keyser; his siblings, Andrew Fertig of Leesburg, VA and Virginia Fertig of Keyser; his former wife Mary Johnson (Mike) of Gloucester, VA; his nephews, Johnny Lewis, Jr., Christopher Hines, Nathan Junkins, Derek Harris and Tyler Harris; his niece Mary Mae Hines; his goddaughter Serenity Rose Johnson; and his friend Paul Corbin of Keyser.
