She was predeceased by: her husband Charles "Curtie" Dorsey; and her parents, Kenneth B. Smith and Madeline Hecht Smith of Silver Spring, MD.. She is survived by: her daughters, Teresa (Edmond Stephens), Tammie (Darren Perdue) and Valerie Holland; and her grandson Charles "Casey" Perdue of Seattle, WA.. She is also survived by extended family members and friends.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Backpack Ministry or the Shoe Ministry at First Baptist Church of Ceredo, P.O. Box 967, Ceredo, WV 25507.
