He was predeceased by: his parents, George A. Nichols and Shirley C. Nichols (McCarty). He is survived by: his wife Sandra K. Nichols; his children, Douglas W. Nichols (J. T. Redmon) and Rachel A. Brown (Jason); his grandchildren, J. J. and Brittany; his brothers, James D. Nichols and N. "Peanut" Dean Nichols; his mother-in-law Dorothy E. Wolf; and his siblings-in-law, Robert Wolf "Dexter" and Machelle Grove Wolf. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
