He was predeceased by: his son Jackie Jake Payne; and his grandson Jeffrey Wilt Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy H. Danberry Payne; his daughter Donna Wilt of Kearneysville; his grandson Joseph Wilt (Whittney) of Colorado Springs, Colorado; his great grandchildren, Gia, Presley and Paisley Wilt; and his close friends, Charlotte and Duke Thomas of Beckley.
